Peace flags were flown from the Mont Blanc Bridge to signal the City's good will.

Banks and businesses barricaded themselves behind plywood and yellow (fire-retardant) boards. 

The demonstrators, who arrived a week early, blitzed the city with posters, banners, and graffiti. And on the last day before the summit, they organized a peaceful practice run across the Mont Blanc Bridge.
